“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
This is the day that the Lord has made!
God made this day.
He took the time and the effort to create this day – and He saw fit to include you in it.
If you woke up today and you were still alive, it is because God designed it that way.
He has a purpose for you.
But everybody doesn’t always live like it.
It is not uncommon for days to be wasted because of boredom, laziness, or fear.
Someone may simply have “nothing to do.”
Or they may very well have something to do, but they don’t want to do it.
Or they may be afraid to do what must be done.
It is important to recognize the difference between can’t and won’t, and to accept responsibility for how you utilize your time.
Nobody lives forever, and human kind’s mortality rate is 100%.
The point is: your time on this Earth is finite – it is better to start using your time more wisely now than to regret having wasted it later.
You cannot change the past, and tomorrow is not promised.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift – that’s why they call it the present.
Wasting a day that the Lord has made is like throwing a birthday gift in the trash right in front of the person who gave it to you. That person would consider you disrespectful and ungrateful.
God determines whether or not people are responsible for the little He gives before deciding to give them anything else! (Matthew 25:21)
It’s wonderful to hope and plan for tomorrow, but it’s more important to live for today!
“You do not even know what tomorrow will bring.” (James 4:14)
Tomorrow may bring a blessing or a disaster. We simply don’t know; and so much is out of our control.
But we do know that the Lord made this day.
Do not waste it.
What if it were your last?
You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.
Just do it.
