Living & Enduring

“You have been born anew, not of perishable, but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring Word of God” (1 Pet. 1:23)

The richness of God’s Word can never be understated.

In this passage alone, the Lord conveys 4 vital truths that will enable you to grow in further knowledge of His word, His will, and His way.

1) You are born anew.

Your old sinful nature has been put to death. You are no longer enslaved by sin, nor are you now condemned to death – the wage of sin. (Rom. 6:23)

You have been reborn with the righteousness of Christ!

2) Your spirit is imperishable.

Whereas the sinner’s wage is death, you have the gift of life through Jesus Christ! (Rom. 3:24)

As your physical body passes away (when the time comes), you will receive a new body in heaven – forever free from pain and sorrow. (John 3:15; Rev. 21:4)

3) The word of God is alive.

Whenever it is read, the word of God takes on a life of its own, granting timely instruction, truth, and guidance to each individual – regardless of their circumstances.

The word does not change, but it will speak to you differently during the different stages of your life. (2 Tim. 3:16)

4) The word of God is enduring.

God’s word never fails or returns void. (Isa. 55:10)

The Bible has survived countless bannings and burnings over thousands of years. It cannot be destroyed – it will forever endure.

Indeed, the word existed before time was time: it has always been, and it will always be. (John 1:1-3)

Amen!
