The Most Prescious Gift

A riddle:

(Try to solve it before the end!)

I want you to have me, ’cause I know I can help,

But you can’t hardly see me – I can only be felt;

When I’m nowhere around, all you have is despair,

Of the important in life, you no longer care;

But I come when you call me – I’m there in a jif,

Please God, don’t ignore me if you’re nearing a cliff;

The cure that so many have called on to cope,

Is the peace and the joy we receive when we hope.

Look in the Pantry

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” (Matthew 5:6)

Question: What would you do if you were really hungry?

You would get some food!

Food for the spirit is God’s Word.

Righteousness is found in Jesus alone, and one may only find it once they determine to follow Him.

To know what Jesus was like – what He thought, how He felt, how He handled difficult situations – peruse the Word!

When you are hungry, you get something to eat.

When you are thirsty, you get something to drink.

When you are confused, you get some advice.

When you are tired, you get some sleep.

You do these things because you need to.

God promises that if you truly want righteousness – you will not be left with a mere appetizer – you will be filled.

The proof is not in the profession of the desire for righteousness; it is in the action of acquiring it.

Pour your energy into it. Fill your heart and mind with God’s Word and look for ways to apply it to your life.

In so doing, you will enjoy the rich and righteous life God intends for you to have.
