Overflowing

“You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows” (Psalm 23:5)

A lot can be said for positive thinking and doing everything possible to be your best self.

Many good and inspiring quotes about being your best come down to trusting in the process, or putting in the work.

One that I like is:

“There’s no elevator to success. You must take the stairs.”

While several self-help tips can prove helpful, in truth, most of these quotes put everything – success or failure – upon yourself, while completely removing God from the equation.

When we take God out of the picture, we can work as hard as we want, yet never realize our full potential.

Jesus explains why: “For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

What are your goals?

What are your dreams?

What is your heart’s desire?

Whatever you do, include God.

Seek His blessing.

Discover His will.

Put God first.

“Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalms 37:4)

For those who truly trust in God to deliver the divine goods, the choice is not limited to looking at the glass as half-full or half-empty.

Our glass is overflowing.

Amen!

  1. Well said. My life is overflowing because of Christ, God’s special gift. He takes the sting out of my troubles and gives me peace instead of fear and negative thoughts. Thank you, Jesus.
