The Untouchables

“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of My hand. No one can undo what I have done.” (Isaiah 43:13)

Many people spend their lives ignoring God’s call, choosing instead to set their own path. And indeed, God has granted humanity free will. People are free to say what they want, do what they want, and believe what they want.

But no one is free to choose the consequences of their actions. They must simply be accepted.

You are the sum total of your decisions, and thereby the consequences that accompany them.

If you neglect your diet and refuse to exercise, your weight and overall health will spiral out of control.

If you decide not to work, you will have trouble paying the bills.

The Bible says that if you reject Jesus Christ, you will not be able to enter heaven.

“So we see that they were unable to enter [heaven] because of their unbelief.” (Hebrews 3:19)

But the instant that belief enters your mind, a chain-reaction of miracles likewise takes place.

“Whoever believes in Him has eternal life.” (John 3:15)

“I have called you by your name; you are Mine.” (Isaiah 43:1).

“You have been chosen to know Me, believe in Me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God – there never has been, and there never will be.” (Isaiah 43:10)

You are called by name.

“Who, me?”

“Yes, you!”

It is deliberate, not accidental. Personal, not indifferent.

You are offered eternal life.

You are offered untouchability.

And although this offer is made to you specifically, it isn’t made to you exclusively.

It’s open to anyone who wants it.

Whosoever…” (John 3:16)

Why does the Lord make this offer?

He has His reasons, but remember that He doesn’t make it lightly: it cost Him His Son.

“I, the Lord God alone, will blot out your sins, for My own sake, and will never think of them again.” (Isaiah 43:25)

Some people suppose God doesn’t exist and that it doesn’t matter what you do – we’re all going to die anyway, and that’s that.

If that is true, and you put your faith in God anyway, in the end, you lose nothing.

If, however, those people are wrong, and God does exist, and you have faith, in the end, you gain everything.

Determine for yourself where you would rather place your bet.

Amen!
