Thank you, Lord, for a brand-new day;
I am ready and resolved, come what may.
Demons and distractions, You have promised to slay;
Lord as You command it, I will obey.
As I stand steady, staring into the fray;
Your love and compassion will show me the way.
Your purity and kindness, I would gladly portray;
So I rush to Your word, without further delay.
Into Your hands, my life I lay;
And into Your presence, I desire to stay.
Your love is forever, without decay;
Of Your peace and patience, I inquire to pray.
Guide me thus, out of the gray;
For You are the potter, and I am the clay.
