To Catch a Fish

“Jesus said to them, ‘Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.’ So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them; and though there were so many, the net was not torn” (John 21:10-11)

The miracle of the great catch of fish was incredible for numerous reasons. Namely, Jesus had died prior to this event, but had risen from the tomb.

The men hadn’t caught anything all through the night, and at daybreak, Jesus appeared, saying, “Cast the net over there, on the right side of the boat.”

And they did. The catch was so plentiful that they could hardly haul it in!

That is Jesus’ mindset: Abundance (John 10:10)

Do you need love? Jesus offers more love than any other human could ever give – as evident by His death on the cross.

Do you seek peace? God’s peace surpasses all human understanding. (Phil 4:7)

Joy, patience, forgiveness . . . whatever you need, God will fill your cup to overflowing. (Psalm 23:5)

Jesus says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; Seek, and you will find; Knock, and the door will be opened for you.” (Mt. 7:7)

The one condition is that you must be active in this process; you must believe that you will receive, find, and have; and the door will be opened to you.

The Lord does not make empty promises. If God makes a claim, you can take it to the bank.

You must act upon His promises as if you have already received them.

The tenet you must live by is “trust and obey.”

Simply put: cast the net where Jesus tells you.
